Bedwetting- Why does it happen

Bedwetting, nocturnal enuresis- Why does it happen?

bedwetting; nocturnal enuresis

What Happens in nocturnal Enuresis or bedwetting? There are two types of bedwetting

Primary nocturnal enuresis happens in a child who has never learnt to control urination at night. Secondary enuresis is said to happen in a child or adult who previously did not have bedwetting and has developed newly acquired bedwetting

The bladder is a like a holding container for urine. It gets filled up with urine and then contracts to push the urine out
In a normal person:
• Nerves in the bladder wall send a electrical current message to the brain when the bladder is full.
• The brain then sends a electrical current message to the bladder to hold it till the person can go to the bathroom.
But people with nocturnal enuresis have a problem that causes them to pee involuntarily at night.
